In an effort to honor and promote community media and local cable programs that are distributed on public, education and government (PEG) cable television channels, the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) is seeking entries for its Hometown Media Awards.
Previously known as the Hometown Video Awards, the name change to Hometown Media Awards reflects the wider array of media being used by PEG channels, says ACM, a national, non-profit membership organization committed to ensuring access to electronic media for all people.
Awards are presented to creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats, and move viewers to experience television in a different way.
The Hometown Media Awards is local cable’s largest video awards competition. Winners of the Hometown Media Awards will be recognized during the Alliance for Community Media 2012 Conference & Exhibition in Chicago July 31-Aug. 2, 2012.
For more information or to submit an entry using ACM’s new Hometown Media Awards digital submission system, please go to the alliance’s website at www.allcommunitymedia.org.
