ACM Names 2012 Hometown Media Award Winners

The awards recognize “the best community media programming”

The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) named its 2012 Hometown Media Award winners on June 22, which the organization says recognize “the best community media programming of 2012” by public, education and government (PEG) channels.

More than 100 awards are to be presented in six categories out of more 1,000 entries from several states, says the ACM. PEG channels inMassachusettsearned 29 awards, the largest number for a state, followed byMinnesotawith 17 andNew Yorkwith 12.

The categories entrants competed under were youth, non professional,youth/non-professional combined category,professional, educational class project K-12, website and overall excellence. The categories, the specific area within that category and the winners in each are:
