WASHINGTON — Registration has opened for the 2018 Government Video Expo, set for Nov. 27–29, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington.

The three-day event is a key annual get together for video, AV and IT professionals working for and with various branches of government, public agencies, broadcast, educational institutions, nonprofits, law enforcement and the military.

The event will feature an exhibit floor, free seminars, keynotes, demonstrations and networking opportunities. Sessions on tap include AV case studies and demonstration from the likes of the Washington, D.C., Department of Transportation, an agency that monitors feeds from 750 traffic cameras to keep one of the nation’s busiest roadways moving. Panelists will talk about the agency’s installation and how it is benefiting the community.

Other sessions include informational panels like a drone tutorial — which will look at the ways that government agencies and law enforcement are using UAV photography as an everyday application — and sessions on technologies like blockchain and wireless 5G.

The event is designed to showcase the best practices and innovators in video and AV creation, and attendees will hear about new techniques for production, display and delivery technologies.

Free registration is available .
