Chris Petrick He will be responsible for leading the 61-year-old family business, which consists of nearly 350 employees, 450,000 square feet of production space, and thousands of technology furniture products for schools and businesses.

“Bretford is a family business--my father and uncle started the company in 1948, and my brother and I have continued ownership,” said Dave Petrick, former CEO and current company chairman. “While I intend to remain in the business, the time has come to transition this role to the next generation in our family. Chris understands Bretford to the core, having worked in nearly all the departments over the years. His experience and leadership talent are exactly what Bretford partners and customers need in order to continue thriving in this new decade.”

Among Bretford's recent products is equipment with anti-microbial, flu-fighting surfaces, as described in the December 2009 issue of Government Video and here.

Chris Petrick joined Bretford in 1991 after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. Prior to accepting his new position, he served as director of sales and director of marketing, and held numerous territory, product and marketing management positions at the company. He is also a member of BIFMA (The Business and Furniture Manufacturer’s Association) and is on the show planning committee for NSSEA (National School Supply & Equipment Association).

With this new organization, Mike Briggs will remain in his role as president of Bretford, concentrating his efforts on the sales, marketing and customer service support functions within the business.
