The federal government shutdown could not have come at a worse time for the National Zoo and its fans, as the zoo has a frisky infant panda that is tailor made for video. Many thousands of people around the world were disappointed when the National Zoo turned off its panda cam during the much-detested furlough. Now that workers are streaming back in, panda cam has been restored. I've tried to get access to the zoo's panda cam today, but it is apparently too overloaded with requests to respond to mine.
However, the zoo has also posted new video on its YouTube account, and there's a fresh one of the panda cub receiving an exam from veterinarians. It's just too impossibly cute, so I have to share it. It's short, but noisy... you'll want to hear it but keep the sound down low.
Here it is... enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArSn8Jq5hkA
Is it my imagination, or is the little thing saying "Ow... ow ... OW!"
