The U.S. Navy has issued a request for bids from contractors to provide television-programming and broadband Internet services to the “Navy community” at bases and facilities in California and Nevada.
The television-programming and Internet services are to be installed in a range of Navy buildings, from office environments with limited channel requirements, to lounges, retail venues, piers for docked ships and hotel environments seeking state-of-the-art television and on demand services, according to the Navy. Broadband Internet capabilities might be needed at some locations, according to the solicitation.
The contract would be for five years starting from the date of signing followed by five, one-year-options, and contractor is to provide technical, engineering, logistical, installation, maintenance and support services are to be provided via traditional cable, satellite or other emerging technologies, the document said.
The solicitation was issued June 25, and the deadline for responses is July 26. The solicitation number is SWRMWR-13-R-0002.
