Two Air Force Bases Seek Audiovisual Equipment and Integration

Solicitations issued to outfit a ‘Squadron Conference Room’ to an ‘Emergency Operations Center’

The Air Force has issued two requests for quotes from two different commands with one seeking several components of brand-name audiovisual equipment from small-business vendors and the other seeking the planning and installation of AV equipment.

The 802d Contracting Squadron of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas issued its request for quotes — identified as Solicitation Number LGCAD-5-0288 — for both audiovisual equipment and its installation. The solicitation was issued June 18, and the deadline for responses is July 2 at 10 am CST.

The AV equipment is to be installed in Lackland’s “Squadron Conference Room” and “Flight Conference Room.” The solicitation lists the audiovisual equipment by brand name that Lackland is seeking. However, it does say it will accept an “equal product” to the brand-name product.

The products listed are two NCE P350W WXGA Professional Integration Projectors; two Da-Lite Cosmopolitan, Cinema Vison, Motorized Projector Screens; two Da-Lite Lift 10M, Flush Mount Retractable Projector Mounts for the ceiling; two Vizio E7011-A3, 70 inch, LED-Backlit LCD televisions, Class Razor, 1080p; two Peerless, Smart Mounts for 70-inch flat wall monitors; four Vizio LG37LT77OH, 37 inch, Pro, Ldiom LED-Backlit LCD TVs; four Peerless Full Motion Articulating Wall Mounts for 37-inch flat wall monitors; two Logitech Z-906 Home Theater Speaker Systems, wired, with Dolby and containing five speakers.

The Air Reserve Station in Youngstown, Ohio issued its request for quotes — identified as Solicitation Number FA6656-13-T-0001 — for the “planning and install of audio visual equipment.” The solicitation was issued June 19, and the deadline for responses is July 8 at 3:30 pm EST.

The ARS wants a contractor to layout and install an audiovisual system in three areas of Building 407 located on the base. Those areas are the command post, the room housing the crisis action team and the emergency operations center. “The installation will be a new stand-alone system capable of displaying AV information from various inputs,” the solicitation says.

The equipment list for the command post is two 80 inch, or larger, LED/LCD displays, all capable of accepting input from closed-circuit security cameras; five computer inputs and standard coaxial cable; a source-selectable sound system and two AV control pads.

The equipment list for the crisis-action-team room is one 80 inch, or larger, LED/LCD display; three 60 inch, or larger, displays, all capable of accepting input from closed-circuit security cameras; a minimum of six computer inputs and standard coaxial cable; a source-selectable sound system and one AV control pad.
