The time from shooting to editing is getting even faster.
The new GY-HM100 camcorder, the latest addition to JVC’s ProHD line, is a handheld that records to solid-state media in Final Cut Pro’s native format, so material can be edited directly from the memory cards.
It records at up to 35 Mbps. At less $4,000 and just 3.1 pounds, it brings in HD where higher-end cameras are impractical.
It has three progressive scan CCDs, JVC’s proprietary 35 Mbps MPEG-2 encoder and recording up to 1920x1080 through a Fujinon 10:1 Zoom.
