Miami Border Patrol Gets Mobile Cams With 5-Mile Range
Smugglers and border violators in and round Florida are about to face a new challenge. The Department of Homeland Security said the Miami Border Patrol Sector recently took delivery of two Mobile Remote Video Surveillance Systems (MRVSS) that can see as far as five miles.
The systems--"scope trucks"--include a sophisticated camera array attached to a hydraulic mast mounted in the bed of a pickup truck.
The camera array provides daytime and nighttime, and foul-weather vision.
DHS says the systems will be deployed throughout Florida, on the coast, on highways, and in special operations.
