HaiVision Systems is now a member of the Crestron Electronics Integrated Partner Program, with which it rolled out new modules for integration of HaiVision's hai1000/MAKO-HD multi-stream telepresence codec systems into Crestron's automation systems. The hai1000 is designed for telepresence-style communications and delivering medical-grade video within hospitals.

The new modules, available from Crestron, allow integrators to establish smooth communications between HaiVision hai1000 codecs by using Crestron's room automation systems. Crestron automation products provide "instant on" performance within the demanding environments of military and healthcare, where users require immediate response from control systems.

HaiVision's hai1000/MAKO-HD provides full frame rate, high-definition video and computer output transmission across networks with end-to-end latency of 70 milliseconds. It combines up to five performance codecs within a single telecom grade appliance. It is ideally suited for applications where each location may have multiple video sources and needs to display multiple remote video sources — such as a telepresence suite or an integrated operating room within a medical teaching center.
