The 45-pound box lens XA50X9.5B ESM features a built-in support for the camera, so it mounts onto a tripod with no additional lens support required.

It’s designed to work with ENG-style 2/3-inch HD cameras and is the first box HD lens under $90,000.

“Our new XA50X9.5B ESM lens offers an affordable, high-quality option for a wide range of productions,” said David Waddell, Marketing Manager for Fujinon. “The superior imaging standards and optical performance that Fujinon is known for are available even where budgets are a concern.”

The XA50X9.5B ESM has 50x magnification and a 9.5-475mm focal length, which can provide a tight shot at 100 feet. A remote control 2X extender is standard. The maximum relative aperture is 1.7 from 9.5 to 311mm and only 2.6 at 475mm. The minimum object distance is 9.8 feet from the front of the lens. Built-in moisture absorbing technology reduces fogging caused by humidity and improves reliability.

The new lens also features Fujinon’s exclusive Digi Power digital servo control system, which enhances the performance of both zoom and focus functions.
