Adder has launched the AdderView PRO, an eight-port KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch with audio. The AV8PRO-DVI delivers full dual-link DVI-I video, high-speed USB 2.0 and audio switching alongside multiplexing features that allow the selection of a mixture of the attached DVI, USB or audio inputs at the same time.
It’s the first KVM switch to use Adder’s USB True Emulation (UTE) technology. UTE works by simultaneously emulating the character of the connected USB devices to all computers, thus avoiding the limitations associated with generic emulations which are on existing KVM devices. The result is that the user can switch instantaneously while also supporting all the extended features of modern USB input devices.
Full DVI-I enables users to select graphic sources such as analog or digital across all eight connections. Additional USB devices like printers, scanners or external hard disks can also be connected and used by the switched computer.
The AV PRO is ideal for users across a range of industries that rely upon high video performance and unique peripheral functionality—industries including air traffic control, CCTV control rooms, video post production and 3D animation studios.
“This is an absolutely unique proposition” said Nigel Dickens, Adder technical director. “We wanted to create a product to fulfill the needs of real professional users, and so we loaded the product with full dual-link DVI video and the new USB True Emulation technology that we have been working on over the last two years.”
The AdderView AV8PRO-DVI will carry a list price of $1,495.
