There is a lot of great video out there being made by government operations, at all levels of government. Most of us are concerned about the environment and native wildlife, and many government agencies work hard to protect and preserve our treasured flora, fauna and unique scenery. Some of those organizations also do a great job of getting the word out about their work with our natural treasures.
The web channel we're saluting for the week of Sept. 27, 2013, is the Arizona Game and Fish Department's YouTube Channel. Arizona is a big state with diverse terrain and wildlife, including some of the country's most spectacular parks and attractions. The Game and Fish Department does an excellent job showing the breadth of the state's committment to wildlife, and the steps it takes to engage the public in that committment. With videos that range from quick looks at native species to thoughtful overviews of wildlife management, it's easy to spend some time getting acquainted with Arizona's colorful people and unique challenges of maintaining the Southwest's environment. Want to get a taste of the department's annual Outdoor Expo? Are highway overpasses built for wildlife effective? What's being done to revitalize the Colorado River and restore lost features in the Grand Canyon? These questions and many more are answered in intersting, informative and often fun videos created by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
For its focus on the state's glorious scenery, interesting wildlife and sensitive environment, Government Video salutes the Arizona Game and Fish Department's YouTube channel.
