Vitec Bringing Military and Defense Video Streaming to DSEI

Will showcase point-to-point streaming and full motion video

PARIS—Vitec will participate in the upcoming DSEI conference set for September, where it will feature its range of point-to-point streaming and full motion video systems designed for mission-critical and tactical military and defense operations.

Part of Vitec’s DSEI demonstration will include the MGW Pico TOUGH, an MIL-STD certified H.264 HD/SD encoding and streaming system. The MGW has Surveillance, Intelligence and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensor or Situational Awareness video capabilities in an airborne and marine certified enclosure. The model weighs less than 400 grams, consumes less than 7W of power for 1080p encoding with KLV STANAG 4609 metadata and features simultaneous, low-latency streaming of two sources from HD-SDI and analog composite signals, JITC-compliant metadata processing, AES encryption, reliable transport/error correction technology, real-time resolution scaling, image cropping and full-size snapshot capture.

Vitec will also display its MGW Ace encoder and decoder, a portable, hardware-based end-to-end 4:2:2 10-bit HEVC encode/decode system. The MGW Ace encoder offers HEVC bandwidth-efficient compression and H.264 encoding capabilities. It has a selection of I/Os and low power consumption through Vitec’s second-generation HEVC to stream video, audio and KLV metadata while in the field or on the move. The decoder model provides video over industry-standard audio/video connectivity. For point-to-point applications, when paired together, the MGW Ace delivers video streaming over any network, including the internet, with embedded Pro-MPEG FEC or Zixi error-correction capabilities.

The Vitec FITIS (Fully Integrated Tactical IPTV System) will also be shown. This integrated full motion video system captures, processes, archives, indexes, manages and disseminates tactical ISR video and metadata. It enables real-time playback of tactical and situational awareness imagery, continuous recording and indexing of metadata, and retrieving of video assets and analysis notes. It also supports propagation of video imagery in a variety of formats and bandwidth constraints.

DSEI will take place in London from Sept. 12-15. Vitec will be located at stand N7-350.
