Drones Provide New View of Avalon Beach Fill

AVALON, N.J.—The beach replenishment project in Avalon, N.J., is going high tech, as the Borough Council is using a drone to help provide video footage of the area. The drone, flying at 400-feet, will record video footage, at consistent tide levels, before, during and after the beach fill project. The video will be shown both in an Avalon municipal courtroom for the Borough Council and available to the public on YouTube and on the borough website. This is reportedly the first use of UAV technology in the county for a beach replenishment project.
