Connecticut, Other States Scaling Back Government Broadcasts

CT-N looks to get back on the air in some capacity

HARTFORD, CONN.—Last week, it was reported that Connecticut Public Affairs Network’s Connecticut Network (CT-N) was going dark as a result of its decreased budget, but new efforts are being made to get the channel back up, at least temporarily. Some coverage for CT-N reportedly returned Monday, Nov. 13; meanwhile, the office that runs the state Capitol complex in Connecticut has met with entities about running CT-N until the fiscal year ends on June 30, 2018. The report says that there are plans to offer a five-year contract to a permanent operator this spring, but it is not clear what level of coverage there will be of the legislative and other branches of government.
