DVEO, the broadcast division of San Diego-based Computer Modules Inc. (CMI), is introducing a super-small HD camera suitable for military vehicles and aircraft, and a high-definition DVR to go along with it.

The Cunima 2/3-inch HD CMOS chip camera withstands high G-force and the shock of impact, CMI says.

It measures just 1.2x1.4x4.4 inches and weighs 6.4 ounces.

Its image sensor is 1920x1080 pixels, progressive scan. No external camera control unit is needed.

“The Cunima HD camera is strong enough for use on fast-moving equipment, plus it delivers sharp, high quality HD video that shows extensive detail,” said Ray Asturias, DVEO sales manager.

The company is also launching VideoBank HD, a rugged, high-definition H.264 recorder with removable Flash storage. VideoBank HD supports up to 32GB cards, enabling the recording of two hours of 1080i content.

The unit measures 3.3x3.3x1.6 inches. It's designed for encoding, decoding and rugged mobile applications, including remote data gathering, where small HD cameras are deployed.
