Oshawa expands city surveillance with software
by GV staff
April 7, 2008

The Corporation of the City of Oshawa, Toronto, Canada, has a population of 145,000 and ranks high in Canada as a customs port of entry -- with public shipping, rail, and airport facilities in abundance.
When Oshawa decided it was time to upgrade its CCTV management platform, it chose the Aimetis Symphony software from Aimetis because it was looking for a flexible solution that would allow analog, PTZ, and megapixel cameras to co-exist together, as well as the ability to deploy video analytics.

The Aimetis Symphony software relies on an open IP surveillance environment with integrated video analytics. It enables digital video recording, intelligent video analysis, and remote access to live and recorded images from any networked computer.
Symphony was the best intelligent video platform we could find; nothing else could touch it explained Steve Patterson, Oshawa manager of systems operations.
