Whack a Car-Shaped Pinata, Learn About Telework

 Permanent link
If congestion, air quality and work-life balance weren't good enough reasons to think about telecommuting (now more often called "telework") there's always the threat of swine flu to keep you home.

Tues., Nov. 10, Washington workers can take a shot at out auto-centric city - in this case, at a car-shaped piñata - right outside the seat of the District government.

Telework Exchange (a group encouraging the practice) and HP (which makes computers) are behind the event, "The Great Commuter Stress Out," Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza, at 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington.

Participants (it's free) can take a whack at prize-filled piñatas and enter to win desktop punching bags.

There's also food and drinks, free massages and relaxing aimed, apparently, at calming us all down. Plus, there will be information on telework programs, maybe including this one at the Patent and Trademark Office
